Open positions

We are always looking for outstanding and enthusiastic students and postdocs to join the Medical Epigenomics Lab at the CeMM Research Center for Molecular Medicine of the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna. Our group combines experimental and computational methods for understanding epigenome regulation in cancer, stem cells, and immune diseases. The team is highly interdisciplinary. Most applicants have an wet-lab, computational or medical background, or a combination thereof, and we are open to unusual approaches as long as there is evidence of academic excellence.

Postdocs: Postdoctoral positions for specific projects are posted on the CeMM website (link). In addition, interested candidates are strongly encouraged to contact Christoph Bock with their own project ideas.

PhD students: We typically recruit one PhD student per year via the CeMM PhD program (link). The application deadline is typically in January/February, the selection in April/May and the start date for successful candidates is flexible between June and October.

Master students: We will consider outstanding Master's students or undergraduate research fellows provided that they are willing to spend at least 8-12 months at CeMM and have prior experience working in a first-grade research environment. Qualified candidates are encouraged to contact Christoph Bock with a brief motivation letter, CV and transcripts.
